Do you charge for a design? Or Do you offer a design service?
At Kitchen Ergonomics we offer a free design service; after your initial contact our designers can visit you in your home at a time that suits you there they will measure and discuss with you your ideas and create a design brief that will help create your dream kitchen. Once they have created your design you are then invited to view it in 3D at our showroom where we use the latest state of the art technology CAD (Computer Aided Design) package.
What is the average price of a Kitchen Ergonomics kitchen?
Our prices vary depending on the type of worktops that are chosen, the amount of appliances that are required whether you want a handle or a handleless kitchen, the amount of lights you require etc. A typical kitchen price can range from £10,000 to £30,000 plus – Please click here to take a look at some of our beautiful designer kitchens. What is your average installation time?
There are 3 types of installation that Kitchen Ergonomics offer:
- Turn Key
Turn Key can take around 4/5 weeks to fit depending on the size of your kitchen the larger the kitchen the longer the process – A turn key project involves carrying out all works including knocking out walls, taking out the existing kitchen, plastering, plumbing and electrics, fitting the kitchen, project managing the flooring to be fitted, worktops to be installed and walls to be decorated. Once everything is ready our fitter will re-connect.
- Dry Fit
A Dry Fit means we install your kitchen in a readily prepared room. Your Kitchen should be a blank canvas ready for our fitter to fit your Kitchen Units. We will also fit laminate worktops or use our supplier to fit your Quartz, Granite, wooden worktops etc. There is no connection, plumbing works or electrical works included in a Dry Fit. It is up to you the client to organise plastering, decorating and flooring.
- Refurb
A Refurb involves us removing your existing kitchen and re-fitting your new kitchen supplied by us at Kitchen Ergonomics. In simple terms it means a Kitchen Out and a Kitchen In. Once everything is installed and you have arranged your plastering, decorating, work tops and flooring we will then arrange a convenient time with you to re-connect everything.
Do you use your own fitters?
At Kitchen Ergonomics we can design, supply and fit your kitchen or we offer you the option of supply only. We have an excellent team of fitters that we have worked with for many years, some of who are employed by Kitchen Ergonomics and some that are Self Employed. We highly recommend all of our fitters, they take pride in their work and understand Kitchen Ergonomics products.
Is your product flat packed?
No, all of our carcasses are pre-made. At Kitchen Ergonomics we only believe in using the best, our carcasses are made of Egger material they are 18 mm thick on both sides and at the back panel and come in a huge variety of colours and finishes. We offer a bespoke service and can make your carcass any size you require.
Please see an example below of how they are assembled:
There are many benefits to the carcasses already made, one of them being that we create less mess in your home. The carcasses and doors are delivered to our Warehouse where they are quality assured. We will then drill as many doors at the warehouse again creating less dust in your home.
What type of worktops do you supply?
At Kitchen Ergonomics we supply a variety of worktops:
Corian – Corian is not only beautiful to look at but feels amazing too with its smooth edges and inconspicuous joints it leaves you with a seamless look, giving you virtually unlimited design possibilities in your kitchen. With a huge range of colours to choose from you can be sure to find the perfect match for your kitchen. Corian is a solid worktop made of acrylic, it is hard wearing and easy to keep clean.
Granite – Granite is a natural stone worktop and resistant to normal everyday wear and tear. As a natural material, colours and patterns vary from piece to piece so your Granite worktop will be unique to you.
Laminate – The laminate worktop is a low cost option but offers you a hard wearing finish in a large variety of colours however they can be damaged with intense heat (hot pan) or by water intrusion into the core material which is chip board. With care and attention the laminate worktop can last for many years.
Timber – Timber is a solid wood worktop and brings alot of warmth to the room whilst giving your kitchen a real wow factor! There is a mid range cost option for Timber although some rarer timbers such as Wenge can be as expensive as stone tops. As timber is a solid surface they can benefit from undermounted sinks and inset draining grooves. Please note the Timber needs regular maintenance and can be chipped, cut, burnt or stained however with the right care and attention it can last you years.
Quartz – Quartz is a man made alternative to Granite with all the same properties but with consistent colour and patterns piece to piece. We have a wide range of Quartz worktop samples that we can advise you on.

Modern vs Traditional
When planning your kitchen it is ideal to know what style you prefer? Is it the traditional farmhouse country kitchen look with the gorgeous range cooker that you are after or the sleek modern clean lines of a handleless kitchen with fabulous glass splash backs and oven housing units?
We advise our clients to go with what they feel comfortable with, upon visiting a clients home our designers can get a feel for the home, where the light falls etc and advise you on a kitchen that best suits you. Once a design has been agreed you can view your Modern / Traditional kitchen in 3D on our CAD screens.

Induction vs Gas
Each person has there own preference when it comes to cooking in the home, some swear by gas however others cannot be without their induction hob. Gas Hobs have always been a favourite with chefs however we have recently installed an induction hob at a Celebrity Chefs home.

To go Handleless or to not go handleless that is the question?
Handleless kitchens are becoming extremely popular, with there clean lines and sleek approach a handleless kitchen looks uber modern and sophisticated. There are various types of handleless designs including the J Groove design as featured on our Remo Display the base cabinets of this kitchen have a scooped section at the top of the door that acts as the handle, it opens with ease and looks very effective.
Alternatively we can create a handleless door / drawer like our Tomba display that features a stylish aluminium rail that is so easy to get your fingers over for effortless opening of cabinets whiles adding a striking visual aesthetic to the kitchen.
If a handleless kitchen is not your cup of tea then worry not we have a variety of traditional and modern handles that can transform your beautiful designer kitchens.
