Carbon Black Kitchen fitted in Hitchin, Hertfordshire

About This Project

Our clients were in the process of changing their existing kitchen and after doing their research they came across us on the Second Nature website. They wanted a contemporary black kitchen with a traditional twist, our designer has been able to achieve this with a Mornington Shaker door in Carbon and it looks absolutely striking.

It was important to our clients to utilise every part of their kitchen, the units from their old kitchen were of a standard height. At Kitchen Ergonomics we can create bespoke size cupboards and in this instance we were able to design, supply and fit full height ceiling cupboards. The beauty of having full height units not only means you can store more kitchen accessories it also means you are not left with a gap from unit to ceiling that gathers years of dust, cooking debris etc.

Having been used to cooking with a range cooker it was important that we install the best, our clients have chosen a Brittania 100cm Dual Fuel stainless steel range cooker perfect for cooking large family dinners, with 6 aluminium gas ring burners and even a Rotisserie for spit roasting. Above the range cooker is a bespoke mantle piece and home to the Neff canopy hood which has a high speed setting, great for extracting any unwanted smells and steam.

In the previous kitchen was a make shift breakfast bar pushed up against the dresser. Our designer has re-designed this area and created a beautiful large bespoke dresser unit with a quartz divide which then extends round to the side and has an overhang for a seating area. We have also been able to create extra storage with large pan drawers to the front. This is a perfect food preparation area and as keen bakers with their Kitchen Aid on top a great place to bake cakes.

Below are some before images of our clients previous kitchen.
